Laughing Buddha Nursery offers an array of classes dealing with the areas in which we specialize. All classes are taught by owner Grant Estrade who is a licensed horticultatalist under the Louisiana Department of Agriculture, and also holds the Permaculture Design Certfication.

A list of various class topics that are taught:

1) Organic Gardening 101: Fertilization & Pest Control

2) Hydroponics

3) Plant Propagation

4) Edible Mushroom Cultivation

5) Backyard Livestock: chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, and pigs

6) Composting: static, in vessel, vermicomposting/vermiculture, "humanure", and using livestock.

7) Permaculture

8) Urban Agriculture

If you are interested in an unpaid internship we have a highy flexible program. We ask for four hour commitments at a time. Simply contact us and tell us when you are available, and we'll arrange for you to participate in an area in which are interested. Even though it is only a four hour block with no further committment, we do ask that you take it as serious as paid employment.

If you are a 5th - 12th grade science teacher or college professor in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area, Grant Estrade will come and talk to your students at no charge as part of Laughing Buddha Nursery giving back to the community. Please contact LBN to set up arrangments, and please call at least one month in advance.
