Laughing Buddha Nursery Stocks a full array of vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. LBN also offers various native plants, medicinal plants, and bamboo. We do not stock standard landscaping plants or trees. Our goal is to offer the plants that our customers need in order supplement their diet with vegetables or herbs that are grown in their own yard.

Most plants offered for sale are grown directly by LBN Staff. LBN grown nursery stock is not certified organic by the USDA, but could pass the USDA Organic Greenhouse / Container Certification Program. LBN chooses not to due to cost and paperwork maintenance. All plants grown by LBN are also grown in LBN soil mixes. The only plants that we do not grow ourselves are those in which we are not yet able to grow in an efficient manner. The plants that LBN does not grow are labled as such.

LBN also focuses on the propagation and sale of heirloom/traditional, open pollinated, and organically raised varieties. We believe that it is extremely important to retain the genetic diversity of our seeds as much as possible. We will sell 'hybrid" varieties, but will never sell any plant that has been genetically modified (GMO).

We welcome our customers to come by the shop to see our plants and to actively learn about what their options are as far as what they are able to grow relative to their resources. LBN can help anyone from an apartment dweller wanting to grow culinary herbs in a container on their porch/balcony to the individual wanting to install a large "victory garden" and/or a small orchard in their backyard. Don't be intimidated by gardening if you're new to the activity as we will be happy to suggest a seasonal herb or vegetable plant that is easy to grow to get you started.
