Our nutrition education materials are being used in WIC Programs, Head Start Programs, Day Care Centers, Elementary Schools, Cooperative Extension Programs and Community Action Agencies throughout the United States.
We incorporate the ChooseMyPlate concepts, 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and the VENA concepts (Value Enchance Nutrition Assessment initiative jointly developed by FNS and NWA) in our nutrition education cards.
Our materials can be used to individualize nutrition education for clients by providing examples of achievable goals along with a variety of meal and snack ideas, mealtime parenting and physical activity ideas.
The readability level of our nutrition education cards and newsletters is between fourth to sixth grade (Flesch-Kincaid) or fifth to eighth grade (SMOG).

Cheryl Yarrington, RD, MS, CD, CLE
Cheryl has received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Master of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Cheryl is a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Wisconsin Certified Dietitian (CD). She is also a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE).

Cheryl has clinical experience working in the WIC Program for more than 29 years. She has counseled numerous families promoting healthy eating habits and the importance of family meals. She enjoys translating current nutrition knowledge into practical, easy to read nutrition education materials. She believes families want to receive helpful hints, ideas and recipes to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Several nutrition education projects involving the Head Start Program, WIC Program, Cooperative Extension - Family Living Program and other community agencies have been developed, implemented and evaluated by Cheryl. Many of these projects included nutrition education for families with young children. Cheryl is also the mother of 2 children.
Evidence based parenting and family lifestyle interventions that may prevent the development of overweight in children are incorporated into our nutrition education materials. Nutrition Matters Inc. is the sole source of these nutrition education materials.

Stefanie has received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. She has a passion for designing colorful education materials that are easy to read and reinforce key nutrition concepts.
