Our History
Over 30 years ago, William Kinney attempted retirement; his story changed his life, the landscape of a town and brought much joy to many beach loving residents...
 
William Kinney's idea was to take his background in electrical engineering and create shell lamps to furnish his family beach house. After many compliments from his seashore neighbors, William decided to capitalize on his idea and start a business based on the seashore, hence the birth of Coastal Creations, Lavallette, NJ. Various styles of lamps were created and sold along with Coastal themed merchandise.

The family expanded and a son decided to follow in his father's footsteps after college and opened a sister store in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Thomas took his father's muse and in 13 years turned it into a successful coastal décor store.
Today, Thomas's wife Heather buys décor based on current trends and customer requests. Heather is a Jersey Girl carrying on the Kinney family tradition by expanding her lines of merchandise consistently to keep the customer always stimulated by new and fresh waves of décor.
 

Our Mission Statement
William created traditions that are still a part of the allure of the store. We provide exemplary customer service from our family based staff, and our design service is available during all hours of operation. We currently carry over 35 companies that are made in the USA, which is always a positive in this current market.  These are just a few things that keep customers coming back to Coastal Creations time and time again. Now having our third generation working, today Coastal Creations proudly carries on the values our family started. These values will always remain the cornerstone of our success.   
  
 
Our Future
As we continue to be recognized in local and national media for our custom shell mirrors and our work with designers. Heather which has now become the President of the company, has begun working with  companies to design items with the Coastal lifestyle in mind. She has also begun a private label upholstery furniture line, made in the US which can be viewed and purchased currently at our store location only. In the future, Heather will be working on expanding Coastelle into a household name, branding her ideas for the love of the Beach into everyday home decor.
