It's one of the best upgrades you can do to your car.  Looks great while increasing the safety, visibility and reliability of your vintage BMW.

Plug & Play, our LED arrays are shaped to fit into the existing original fixture with no alterations. Complete kit for both Taillights.

Plugs into existing stock electrical connector. No Crimping, Cutting or Soldering at all.  

Simply secure the arrays into the fixture with RTV Silicone or Hot Glue - a dab at each corner is all you need. Pass the pre-soldered connectors through the existing bulb hole to the rear of the fixture and using unique plugs for each individual array, plug into interface connector - you cannot connect incorrectly due to a unique plug for each separate array. The interface then plugs directly into existing wiring harness connector and stores out of sight in the back of the fixture. Totally discreet. Looks great on the car and I've had several positive comments from other drivers who've seen them. 

The only tool required for installation is an 8mm Nutdriver, Socket or Wrench (needed to remove 4 light fixture nuts from car), no other tools needed.  

Following the easy-to-use, photo-documented, Installation Guide, both taillights can be converted in under 1 hour (includes removing/installing the fixture from the car).  

Totally non-destructive to the existing fixture. Return to stock at any time.  

Each fixture contains 160 LED lamps between the three arrays which are four times brighter than existing incandescent bulbs.

These lights are so bright and visible (even in daylight) that they eliminate the need to add the expensive and non-original 3rd Brakelight - if a trailing driver cannot see these lights, they're not going to see a 3rd brakelight either.  

Unique circuitry makes both the Running Lights and the Brake Lights dual purpose, increasing the car's visibility:  With Running Lights/ Headlights OFF, both the Brake and Running light panels illuminate when the Brakes are applied. With the Running lights and/or Headlights ON, both panels function as Running lights and when the Brakes are applied, both panels intensify four times brighter. 

Turn Signals and Hazard Lights maintain the same 'Flash Rate' as original OEM incandescent bulbs. 

Consumes approx. 6.5 times LESS power than an incandescent bulb - 290mA (for the entire array) vs. 1.85 Amps for a 12V, 21W incandescent bulb. This frees up more than 7 Amps to use for Audio systems, iPods, Cell phone chargers, Nav systems, Aux. lighting, etc. 

Produces virtually No Heat - these arrays will NOT melt your light fixture like an incandescent bulb will. With the fixtures now mostly NLA, protecting them is more important than ever.  

Reliable - no issues with bad grounds, corroding sockets, loose bulbs, or the need to find hard to source zinc plated bulbs. These LED arrays work much more reliably. You can be confident that others will see you each and every time you apply the brakes or signal a turn. 

Enhanced Safety - In addition to being 4 times brighter, LED arrays light more quickly than incandescent bulbs making you visible to other drivers much sooner. The difference may seem miniscule and unimportant, but it is not. For instance, using average Perception/Reaction Times (generally accepted as 1.5 seconds), a trailing car traveling at 55MPH will travel 120.9 feet between the time the trailing driver sees your incandescent Brake Lights come on and applies the Brakes. By using LED lights, with their INSTANT-ON capability, that same trailing car going 55MPH will have traveled only 113.4 feet before the driver applies the Brakes. That is a difference of more than 7 feet. Seven feet can actually be the difference between avoiding or hitting you and your car.  Think of this conversion as another form of insurance, but instead of paying for damage, this kind will help prevent it.

To insure a constant light output level  in spite of an LED's tendency to vary it's light output with fluctuations in current (referred to as 'droop'), our LED arrays use special electronic circuits and components to control the current for each light section. They maintain the same output (brightness) over a wide voltage range.

Each array is diode protected against Reverse Polarity, which will destroy LED circuitry (such as when someone accidentally connects the Battery backwards).  

Each array contains circuit protection to withstand up to 30 Volts DC should you experience voltage spikes from a Battery, Alternator or Voltage Regulator failure (the greatest possible voltage spike in a stock 2002 is 19 Volts DC).

Unlike aftermarket LED 'bulbs', which experience many of the same shortcomings of the stock incandescent bulbs, partly due to using the existing bulb sockets, our arrays arrays do not suffer from poor 'throw angle', lens shadows or the need for an aftermarket electronic flasher. There are none made specifically for the 2002, meaning that these non-oem flashers can only be connected with the stock hazard switch connector with a bunch of 'pigtails' making for a sloppy, unprofessional, and perhaps unreliable installation. All the LEDs in the array are 'ganged' in groups of four.  In the unlikely event that a single LED fails, a minimum of 48 LEDs in that individual array will continue to function. An aftermarket LED 'bulb' will, under similar circumstances, fail altogether. And because both the Run and Brake panels have been wired for dual duty, you will still have an entirely separate array functioning as well. 

We use only the finest US components such as Cree brand XLamp® XP-C color LEDs - (Red for Run & Brake Lights/ Amber for Turn Signals), and MIL Spec shock rated boards (meets standards set by the US Military) for superior performance, reliability and long life.  

All arrays are hand-assembled and tested in the USA by the long-time Leader in LED conversion kits for Vintage Import cars - Classic Auto LEDs LLC.
