Welcome to D Etchison JewelryI make my jewelry with the intention to uplift, inspire, and encourage those who wear it. Whatever it is you most want to hold close to your heart, whether it’s a message to bolster you “strength and courage”, the name of a beloved newborn child, a reminder to release stress and “breathe”, or an imaginary word or phrase whose meaning is known only to you, I want to create for you whatever has meaning and will bring you and those you love joy.
Each piece of my jewelry is made of sterling silver, hand-cut and hand-stamped by my two hands in my rural Indiana studio; no two pieces are ever exactly alike. You may choose from three shapes – a perfect circle, and organic oval, or a matchstick form – and a variety of words and phrases including those of your own creation. My charms can be worn singly on a chain, attached to already existing pieces in your collection, or worn in groupings for a chunkier look (or when you just can’t get enough of adding one more word to your inspiration mix!).
Over the years I’ve created this line, customers have told me stories of discovering my jewelry and finding just the right word or phrase they needed in that moment. Some have continually given away pieces they were wearing to friends (and strangers) who’ve seen them and been drawn to them, then returned to me to purchase a replacement piece, only to have the same thing happen again. Others have told of losing a favorite charm or one earring of a set, and assuming it was found by the right person who needed the encouragement. When the right word shows up at the right time for someone, I just say “It’s kismet!” Kismet; n. fate, destiny.
