2014 Islander Sewing Systems I for Education or Certification to be announced
Instructor, Janet Pray

We offer Islander Sewing Systems Certification class every spring (April or May) in Michigan.In the three day class the student will learn the secrets of industry sewing for handling curves, crossing seams, no fuss marking, setting zippers, finishing waistbands, cuffs, collars and many more time-saving techniques. Sew faster and easier with professional results. At the end of the class students have samples and a finished shirt for future reference. No Pins! No Basting! No Kidding! Anyone interested in better construction techniques will be thrilled with this class. Add the fourth day to become a certified instructor. The business aspects of being a teacher are covered in this half day session.

If you LIKE to sew, you will LOVE to sew after you learn the industrial sewing techniques. This class is a valuable opportunity to learn how to make projects quicker and turn out better looking garments, all at the same time. Learn to sew faster, easier and better with speed techniques from the garment industry, adapted for home sewing including; handling fabric without pins, flat felled seams, pockets, mitering and more. Sewing machine required. This class is suitable for individuals who can operate their sewing machine without assistance. Age: 18+
