Do you expect to find carcinogens in "organic" products?
It can be challenging to figure out what known toxins are in your products.  Some carcinogens, such as 1,4 dioxane, are not listed on ingredient labels.  They become part of the product during processing, not as a consciously added ingredient.  Did you know that toiletries labeled "organic" have tested positive for trace levels of 1,4 dioxane? 

Least Toxic Products
At the Least Toxic Village Shop, we select products based on their toxicity and function.  By referencing scientific studies and research by several non-profits, we research product ingredients and company backgrounds to select the least toxic products we can find.  Since it's difficult to declare any product as absolutely non-toxic, we prefer the phrase least toxic.

Why bother?
Why should you worry about the products you eat, put on your body or use in your home?  You encounter so many toxins driving on the road, breathing the air, walking on lawns, drinking water - what difference does it make?  Some exposures you can't control, and some you can.  Research shows that small exposures to some toxins at specific stages of development can have significant impacts.  No longer do scientists adhere to the slogan the dose makes the poison.  In some cases, very low doses have the opposite effect of very high doses.  You could improve your health by avoiding toxins in your daily products.  You can quickly and easily avoid toxins, is it worth it to you to do so?  Once you¿ve switched to least toxic product for your household, then you may have time to help your community remove toxins from school & park lawns, local air as well as your community¿s water and roads.

Least Toxic Village Shop is located in Mountain View, CA.  "Village" reflects that we focus on serving our local community and helping our local economy.    Through workshops, talks and local eco-fairs, we help you in our community learn more about least toxic products.  And we learn from you as you discover least toxic products that work well for you.  Together you and we are working to help improve our community by removing toxins one house at a time, contributing to our local economy with each sale & each fundraiser and by building community as we share ideas and discoveries.
