Believe it or not, our store began in 1986 as a hair salon! For ten years clients knew "Oggi Salon" as an innovative place to get your 80's hair cut/colored or permed!

     In 1996 Sylvia closed the salon and reopened in 1997 as "Oggi the gift shoppe", sharing the retail space with "925 The Silver Store". Sylvia watched through the front window as the nation's first pedestrian mall transformed into a one-way street allowing vehicular traffic and on-street parking. The silver store eventually moved into their own retail location and Oggi the gift shoppe continued to carry silver jewelry along with other unique gift offerings.

     In 2007 Sylvia's son Anthony and his wife Gemma and two sons moved from Chicago to help run the store. Gemma found her niche in gift basket creations, and Anthony has updated the store's technology and added many handmade jewelry items of his own! The trio continues to make improvements and offer unique gifts and custom gift baskets. You can purchase our gift baskets online and browse this site to see a little bit of what we¿re all about.

     We are dedicated to promoting our Kalamazoo and Michigan economy through the use of locally made products. Since we are a small, locally owned business, we believe in keeping our market strong by taking pride in Michigan products, and re-investing in the Michigan economy.
