Quintal Mood is a new work by Ian McDougall, one of Canada's leading composers that features the Low Brass section; 3 Trombones & Tuba. The music uses the "Perfect Fifth" as a starting point for a soundscape that is lush & mysterious. The work is 3 minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced performers.

Ian McDougall is one of Canada's finest musicians; a virtuoso Trombonist and first rate composer. His new work, "Remember When" is for solo Trombone & Low Brass Ensemble of 3 Trombones & Tuba (orchestral low brass section). The work can also be performed with a Flugelhorn or Horn playing the solo part. Lush chords with shifting brooding colors set the tone for the soloist who plays a beautiful dark & lyrical melody line. The work is in an A-B-A format with a Latin middle section featuring an ad lib. jazz solo (written out solo is provided). This work is about 3 minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced performers.

This work is very beautifully transcribed in a simple straight forward setting in the key of Db, down a minor 3rd from the original. It features the 1st and 3rd trombone parts. Use it to feature one player or perform it with a whole choir. The highest note is Ab, so there isn't a lot of fatigue involved like the original key for the horn solo.

Mendelssohn wrote 8 books of Songs Without Words for Piano alone. However this one song is the only one not for solo Piano, but for Cello & Piano and was published posthumously. The work is in A-B-A form, the B section being moody in contrast to the heavenly outer sections. The sublime lyricism of the work gives it its great strength. Mr. Sauer has once again found the perfect key for his Trombone and Piano transcription. For advanced performers.

Mendelssohn's and Wagner's wedding marches may be among the most recognizable classical music ever written. The Mendelssohn March is from the Midsummer Night's Dream and the Wagner March is from his opera, Lohengrin. Sonny Ausman's excellent sounding arrangements make these very playable for intermediate performers. They are in bass clef and can be performed by either a 5 or 6 part ensemble.

Czardas (or Csardas) is the only well known piece of music by Monti and is based on the famous Hungarian folk theme. Originally for the Violin, Keith Terrett has has deftly arranged this work in the key of B-flat with a tiny twist of Latin flavor. It is accessible to Trumpeters of moderately advanced abilities. The length of the work is about 4 1/2 minutes and is scored for Trumpet in B-flat and Piano. This work can be a major show-stopper on your next recital or concert.

Dated within the last six months of the composer's life, the Ave Verum Corpus, K. 168 is a profound example of the unrivaled beauty, elegance and simplicity of Mozart's style. It is a stand-alone choral work based on a sacred Latin text, probably written for a Corpus Christi service in Baden, near Vienna.

Often cited as one of Mozart's most ?perfect? works, it?s sublimity inspired the following remarks from Albert Einstein: ?the perfection of modulation and part-writing, lightly introducing polyphony as a final intensification, (is) no longer perceived. Here...ecclesiastical and personal elements flow together. The problem of style is solved.?

Originally scored for four-part chorus (SATB), organ and strings, this arrangement preserves the original key and markings; the only additions are the ?molto cantabile? marking in the solo voice and the suggested metronome marking of q=80.

A new transcription of Mozart's famous Ave Verum for Tuba Quartet. 2 Euphoniums & 2 Tubas. One of Mozart's greatest choral works has been transcribed by David Sabourin for 2 Euphoniums and 2 Tubas. This 3 minute lyrical work is of medium difficulty.

This famous aria from Mozart's final opera, the Magic Flute is beautifully transcribed by Russ Schultz. Russ is a Bass Trombonist , alumnus of Eastman School of Music, from the class of 1970 and studied with the late Emory Remington. He is the Director of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Lamar University in Beaumont, Florida. This beautiful 3 minute work is scored for 4 Trombones featuring Bass Trombone solo. This work is of medium + difficulty and should be accessible to advanced high school through to advanced performers. Range goes from a low C below the bass clef for bass bone to a high Bb for the 1st tenor trombone part (tenor clef for the top two parts).

Newly transcribed for 6 trombones by Gordon Cherry, principal trombone of the Vancouver Symphony. Mozart's grand, magnificent, spiritual work is scored for 5 tenor trombones and 1 bass trombone. The entire movement in the original key features not only the solo tenor trombone, but all 6 trombonists. Each part of the ensemble takes its turn in performing the solo trombone & solo vocal lines as sung by the bass, tenor, alto and soprano. This work is in a comfortable range for all parts (first part goes to one high C) as written for orchestra by Mozart and completed by his assistant Sussmeyer after Mozart's untimely death. The transcription is very tastefully done with detailed editing of phrasing and dynamics. This work of 4 minutes in length can be performed with an ensemble of 6 trombones or a trombone choir of many players. Mozart's composition is beautiful and will make a wonderful addition to your concert

Originally full orchestra, this two movement transcription of Mussorgsky's Promenade and Bydlo movements is a wonderful addition to your program. Both movements are in the original key. The Bydlo movement features a soloist in the famous tuba solo.

Eric North is a talented young Canadian composer who has used the simple semi-tone as a study for this inventive Trombone Duo. Each performer moves only a semi-tone from the starting tone, however the changing rhythms and tonality keep this piece very interesting for the performers and the listeners alike.

This duo can be performed by two Tenor Trombones or a Tenor and Bass Trombone. This 6 minute work is for moderately advanced performers and includes some tenor clef.

Eric North's compostion for Trombone Quartet is a brilliant whirlwind of excitement, agitation & drive. This 5 1/2 minute work is for advanced performers and uses contemporary techniques. The work uses clashing harmonies and strong rhythms as a way of building musical tension and excitement. The composition is challenging but rewarding to work on. Eric?s new work has already been performed by Haim Avitsur & will surely become a ?must have? for the Trombone quartet repertoire.
