Mendelssohn's and Wagner's wedding marches may be among the most recognizable classical music ever written. The Mendelssohn March is from the Midsummer Night's Dream and the Wagner March is from his opera, Lohengrin. Sonny Ausman's excellent sounding arrangements make these very playable for intermediate performers. They are in bass clef and can be performed by either a 5 or 6 part ensemble.

Dated within the last six months of the composer's life, the Ave Verum Corpus, K. 168 is a profound example of the unrivaled beauty, elegance and simplicity of Mozart's style. It is a stand-alone choral work based on a sacred Latin text, probably written for a Corpus Christi service in Baden, near Vienna.

Often cited as one of Mozart's most ?perfect? works, it?s sublimity inspired the following remarks from Albert Einstein: ?the perfection of modulation and part-writing, lightly introducing polyphony as a final intensification, (is) no longer perceived. Here...ecclesiastical and personal elements flow together. The problem of style is solved.?

Originally scored for four-part chorus (SATB), organ and strings, this arrangement preserves the original key and markings; the only additions are the ?molto cantabile? marking in the solo voice and the suggested metronome marking of q=80.

A wonderful set of variations on the famous Bergamasca theme of Samuel Scheidt that is a mainstay of the Brass Quintet literature. Brilliantly scored by Dr. Karl Hinterbichler of the Arizona Brass Quintet and well known Low Brass pedagogue. Scenes From Childhood (Kinderscenen), Opus 15 is a set of 13 pieces of music that Schumann wrote for Piano in 1838. They are his reminiscences of childhood and have been beautifully scored for Brass Quintet by Keith Terrett. The most well known of the movements is Tråumerei (Dreaming) and has been used in movies to portray love scenes because of its tenderness and beauty. The music is for advanced performers and the collection contains close to 20 minutes of some very sublime & poetic music. Any of these pieces can be inserted into a recital program.

This is the Russian master's most well known work, made famous from the Hollywood movie, "Eyes Wide Shut". Mr. Aharoni has done an excellent job of bringing out the true depth of this work. Length of about 5 minutes & scored for 2 Bb Trumpets, Horn, Trombone & Tuba, this work is for moderately advanced performers.

No, you are not wrong. This very interesting transcription blends together two all time favorite Christmas songs, both beautifully transcribed by the very talented arranger trumpeter, Dean McNeil. This work which combines the two works in tandem begins in "Scotland" with a haunting bagpipe drone effect played by the trombone and tuba. The music winds its way through the countryside until it takes a rest during a lovely legato setting of, "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear".
