From the quietest to the most massive sections of this movement, the sound of the Trombone is at its best.

Cherry Classics-Clarke, Jeremiah-The Prince of Denmark's March for Trumpet & Organ
This famous march sparkles all the way from beginning to end. Mr. Terrett has done a great job with this arrangement. The work was incorrectly known as the Trumpet Voluntary by Purcell for many years. The music is very popular as wedding music (performed at the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana) and was broadcast by the BBC extensively during WW II during the occupation of Denmark. The work is 2 1/2 minutes in length. Parts are supplied for Bb & C trumpet. Easily within range of intermediate performers. A great choice for ceremonies, weddings, etc.

Cherry Classics-Corelli-Three Trio Sonatas for Trombone Trio
A new set of 3 beautiful sounding Corelli Trio Sonatas for Trombone Trio transcribed by L.A. Philharmonic Principal Trombonist, Ralph Sauer. Opus 1, No. 2 in D major, Opus 1, No. 3 in G major, Opus 4, No. 1 in C major. Each trio of about 8 minutes in length is in a 4 movement structure of Slow-Fast-Slow-Fast. There are many great pure chorale harmonies, plus each 2nd movement has a contrapuntal style to it, which is great for building up keen ears and ensemble sense. These sonatas are of moderately advanced difficulty, in tenor and bass clefs. Endurance is not a problem because of the masterly editing of Mr. Sauer, who is legendary for his transcription skills. These trios can be performed by most College/University students and some keen high schoolers. Range goes from a pedal A for Bass Trombone to one high D for the 1st part, but most of the tessitura is in a normal range.

Cherry Classics-David-Concertino No. 2 in B-flat for Trombone and Piano
The Concertino No. 2 in B Flat was recently discovered while surfing the internet. The version found stated that it was a concertino for viola and piano. However the piano reduction had the solo part written for bassoon. It was followed by a separate solo part for viola. However upon examination this proved to be and orchestral viola part and not a solo part at all. From this one could conclude that there must have been, and perhaps still exists, a score and parts for a full orchestral accompaniment.
Although not originally for trombone, this piece lends itself admirably to the lyrical and heroic nature of the trombone. It is challenging but well-suited to the instrument and a quality piece of music. The editor hopes that this piece will find its place as a mainstay in the literature for trombone.

Cherry Classics-Davies-16 Changing Meter Pieces for Tuba
These pieces are intended for the serious private Tuba student at the 11th-12th grade level, though they can also be useful as remedial or preparatory material at the first year college level. Range, technique and rhythmic complexity have been minimized in order to avoid creating too many things for the student to focus on at once. For most students at this level, meter changes and interval structures within a non-tonal context are enough. Technique and range are more than adequately covered in other studies. These fine pieces are more than just studies, they are musical works with a lot of character and should be a part of every Tubist's library.

Cherry Classics-Elgar, Edward - Three Pieces for Euphonium and Piano
Elgar wrote two lovely contrasting works, opus 15, for Violin around the 1890’s, the Chanson de Nuit and Chanson de Matin. They were titled in French as his publisher suggested the British public would find them more appealing to purchase. The Chanson de Nuit and Chanson de Matin became his best selling works to that point and added much needed funds for the family finances. The Romance, opus 62 was originally written for the Bassoon as a lyrical work with orchestra, as Elgar tried to get away from the usually comical writing for the instrument. Mr. Sauer has combined the three delightful works into a three movement suite for Euphonium of about 12 minutes in length for advanced performers.
